The WomenNetPhysics conference is designed to discuss the position of women in physics. Everybody who is interested in the topic is welcome to join the discussion.
In this discussion, we aim to foster an open, collaborative, welcoming, and respectful environment where all participants feel safe and included. We are committed to equity, diversity and inclusion, and accessibility for all participants who sign up to the group. As such, all members must agree to abide by the following code of conduct, applicable to today’s meeting and future events.
By joining today’s meeting, you agree to the following:
We realise that there are other minority groups in physics, who may experience similar or different obstacles in their career. We explicitly invite discussion on these topics as well.
Participate to the fullest of your ability.
Maintain a harassment-free experience for everyone.
Be mindful and respectful of fellow participants and surroundings.
Consider how differences in career position, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, primary language(s), and/or national origin may influence each individual’s comfort to engage and experience the conference (for example, do not put others under pressure to respond to questions without time consideration).
Communicate in a civil manner: discuss ideas and methods rather than people, avoid using language that may be construed as slandering individuals or persons, in or outside the meeting, avoid generalizations and speak from your own experience whenever possible (“I” rather than “they”, “we” or “you”).
Be receptive to differing viewpoints and experiences; provide and accept constructive criticism gracefully and thoughtfully.
If during the event problems arise, you agree to the following:
Notify meeting organizers if you observe someone in distress, a possible harmful situation, or witness behavior that breaks this code of conduct.
If a concern is raised every participant should respect the conflict resolution protocol; we will work together to identify, remedy and adjust policy.
Participants asked to stop any harassing or other prohibited behaviour are expected to comply immediately; if unacceptable behaviour continues, meeting organizers hold the right to implement a course of action including removal of some or all offending parties from the meeting.
